The Netherlands has a new electronic power group. A# consists of artists and friends Alberta Balsam, Bastian Benjamin, French II and Milio, who are already established names in their own right.

Expect a sum of their respective sounds, rooted in ambient, bass, IDM and electro. Exciting, unique and totally improvised. How can less be more? In this case, four is certainly more.

The first time they played together at the secret artist residency for Best Kept Secret in 2023, the chemistry was instant. In rehearsals, they focus on improvisation rather than detailed preparation. They enjoy surprising each other with new grooves and sounds.

A# embraces an unfiltered, no-nonsense approach to playing, hence it's A Hashtag, not A Sharp. It’s all about letting go of conventions and trusting their instincts. Gathered around a table filled with knobs and cables, right in the middle of the crowd, they create a sound that is greater than the sum of its parts.
